Tynemouth MP has welcomed the news that the Government has announced a proposal for a full ban on ivory trade in the UK.

Alan said “I know that a lot of local people feel strongly about this issue and I am pleased that the government have listened.   A consultation is currently taking place on possible exemptions and comments are invited from all interested parties.  The deadline for submissions is 29th December.  I would urge anyone with a view to have their say.”
