Alan Campbell MP for Tynemouth Community Commitment Common Sense
On the centenary of the end of the First World War Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell attended remembrance services at Hawkey’s Lane in North Shields, and Whitley Bay Cenotaph.
Alan said “On the centenary of the end of the First World War it was fitting that the crowds gathered at events across the constituency were as big as I have ever seen them. On Sunday evening I was also proud to be present at the lighting of the beacon in Whitley Bay, when over 1200 beacons were lit across the country as part of ‘Battle’s Over’ – a tribute to the millions who were lost or who participated in the war, whether on the battlefield or the home front. We will remember them.”
