Tynemouth MP today joined over 50 volunteers at a litter pick on Whitley Bay beach to celebrate 25 years of the Great British Beach Clean.

Alan said “Although this event was celebrating 25 years of the Great British Beach Clean it’s good news that in the last year or so people have really begun to understand the damage that plastic does to our environment.  Tynemouth and Whitley Bay are leading the way locally in their campaigns to become plastic free and it’s fantastic to see so many people getting involved.”
