To celebrate Armed Forces Day local MP Alan Campbell joined the 3rd Tynemouth (Ritson’s Own) Scouts and Northumbria World War One Commemoration Project to place a blue plaque on the home of their founding Assistant Scout Master Fred Greenacre.

Alan Campbell said ‘This event was particularly poignant with Sheila Parks placing the plaque of her great uncle two days before the centenary of his death in 1918.  It was an honour to be there as part of Armed Forces Day and I’d like to thank everyone involved.’
