Alan Campbell MP recently attended an event promoting the Child Rescue Alert as part of a two week campaign by the National Crime Agency, the Missing People charity and Group Call.  The system, designed to alert the public when a child has been abducted and is believed to be in danger, could easily save a life. The event highlighted the value of this system explaining how important a role the public and media play in the search of a missing child. The more people aware of a disappearance, the more likely it is the child will be returned safely.

Alan Campbell MP said “I cannot even comprehend the heartbreak a missing child would bring and I believe we should take every action necessary to prevent others from experiencing a similar tragedy to the McCann’s.  I fully support this campaign and urge my constituents to sign up.”

To help any of the hundreds of people that go missing around the North East every year simply visit childrescuealert.org.uk and register to receive an alert if a child in North Tyneside goes missing.  It is free and might even save a life.
