Alan Campbell MP today started the 30th Woodlawn School Xmas Pudding Fun Run.

744 (seven hundred and forty four)  runners defied the rain on Boxing Day to take part in the Thirtieth Anniversary Woodlawn School Xmas Pudding Fun raising over £3500

First male runner home was Daniel Johnson of Gateshead Harriers in 15 minutes 27 seconds:  followed by his brother Callum, also of Gateshead, and Ross Floyd of Morpeth Harriers.  The first female runner was Danielle Hodgkison of Birchfield Harriers in 17 minutes 5 seconds.  The last runners in were three year old Lily Steel and her auntie Sarah who completed the three and a quarter miles in some forty minutes.

All the registration and marshalling was provided by volunteers from North Tyneside Polytechnic Running Club, whose participation and expertise ensure the Run success.  Twice the usual number of marshals volunteered this year, setting up the Run route and standing in the rain until the last runners came home.

Alan Campbell MP said “I am always delighted to be asked to start the annual Xmas Pudding Fun Run and to be able to support Woodlawn School. It is a great community event, an opportunity to run off the excesses of the day before and all in a good cause.”
