This weekend, local MP Alan Campbell attended the Lost Fishermen’s Service at North Shields Fish Quay.

He said “Fishing remains one of the UK’s most dangerous industries. It was good to see so many people at the weekend at the Lost Fishermen’s Service at the Fiddlers Green memorial. Thanks to Brian Chambers, Peter Dade and everyone who organised the event.

Retired fisherman Henry Howard was one of the inspirations behind the Fiddlers Green memorial in North Shields so it was fitting then that Henry was remembered at the service. A privilege to meet Henry’s family of whom he was so very proud.”
