This summer Tynemouth MP has taken part in Big Butterfly Count run by https://bigbutterflycount.org/.

So far during the challenge 53 constituents have made 75 counts across the constituency. Butterfly Conservation asks that we take 15 minutes to look in a sunny open greenspace. These can be from your garden to the park and any place in between.

Alan said “It is useful as citizen scientists to know where butterflies are and where they are not so we can conserve the ones we have and look to make other spaces more hospitable again.”
