Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell has welcomed the news that Nexus and local bus companies have agreed a ‘Take The Kids For Free’ offer across all bus services in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and County Durham for the length of the school summer holidays.

The offer will run from Saturday, 23 July, until Sunday, 4 September, and allows an adult fare-paying customer to take up to three children aged 11 and under with them for no charge. Adult customers with concessionary travel cards for age or disability can also take the kids for free.   Take The Kids For Free is already a permanent promise on Metro and the Shields Ferry, North East England is the first region outside London to make this offer.
