Speaking on Holocaust Memorial Day, Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell said “Today – 27 January – we remember six million Jewish people murdered in the Holocaust, millions of lives taken away under Nazi persecution of other groups (Roma and Sinti people, black people, gay people, mentally and physically disabled people); and we commemorate the genocides that took place after the Holocaust: in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
