Ahead of next week’s Budget Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell has called from more support for local shops, pubs and hospitality businesses.
Alan said “I have been in touch with the Chancellor to raise important issues facing local shops, pubs and hospitality businesses.
Small shops, pubs and hospitality businesses are the heart of our local high streets and communities. The sector is a huge part of the UK economy and it has been one the hardest hit sectors of the current crisis.
In order to provide some much needed help to our local economy I have urged the Chancellor to extent the 5% VAT cut for another 12 months and to include a further 100% holiday on business rates.
I hope that the Chancellor listens to the very real problems facing local businesses uses next week’s Budget to provide real help.”
