Local MP Alan Campbell today went along to an event at Cullercoats Crescent Club to celebrate World Mental Health Day.  The event was organised by Launchpad who are an independent user-led group by and for people who currently or in the past have used mental health services or who would be seen as eligible to do so.

Launchpad North Tyneside is a community development which aims to strengthen people’s social networks, enable mutual aid and empower them to take more control of their lives. It can also work to lessen inequalities and to reduce the stigma attached to mental health problems.

Alan Campbell MP said “My thanks go all at Launchpad for organising this important event and to the other groups such a Phoenix Detached Youth Project who supported the day.  It is so important that we bring issues of mental health to the forefront and ensure that the resources are in place to help people when they need it.”
