Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell today spoke at an event to mark the 1st anniversary of the Fiddler’s Green Memorial on the Fish Quay in North Shields.

Dozens of people attended the event to celebrate the birthday of the statue, which was developed by the North Shields Fishermen’s Heritage Project.

Alan Campbell said “I was honoured to be asked to speak at the anniversary.  Fiddler’s Green is a poignant and fitting tribute to all those who have lost their lives at sea.  I’d like to thank the Fishermen’s Hertiage Project for bringing this together.”
