Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell has advised constituents who are eligible that cold weather payment have been triggered for Tynemouth Constituency.  The postcodes within the trigger are NE25, NE25, NE29, NE27 and NE30.

Cold Weather Payments are made to recipients of selected benefits including;

• Pension Credit
• Income Support
• income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Universal Credit
• Support for Mortgage Interest

To trigger the payments, the average temperature at a specified weather station must be recorded as, or forecast to be, 0°C or below for seven consecutive days.

You do not need to apply. If you’re eligible to get a Cold Weather Payment, you’ll be paid it automatically.
