Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell has welcomed the news that in future, the blue bade scheme will take into account people with non-physical disabilities.

Alan Campbell said “I have long believed that the Blue Badge scheme should not discriminate between people with physical and non-physical disabilities however it was becoming clear that people with hidden disabilities were finding it hard to obtain a badge through the scheme.

The government will soon begin with with key stakeholders to develop guidance for local authorities when administering the changes.
