Alan Campbell MP today spoke in the Annual Fisheries Debate on behalf of local fishermen.

Mr Campbell said “The annual fisheries debate is a valuable opportunity to raise the concerns of local fishermen.  I used the opportunity to highlight the difficulties of the prawn fishery in the Farne Deeps, the salmon fishery and the future of the relatively few driftnet licences that remain as well as the regeneration of North Shields port and the much needed urgent fish quay renewal project.  It is imperative that the government start listening to the valid concerns of local fishermen and I will continue to make the case.”
