Alan Campbell today went along to a meeting with students at St Thomas More Academy organised by Tyne and Wear Citizens.

Tyne & Wear Citizens is part of Citizens UK who organise communities to act together for power, social justice and the common good. Their work is based on the principle that when people work together they have the power to change their neighbourhood, their cities, and ultimately the country for the better.

Alan Campbell said “I want to thank Tyne and Wear Citizens for organising the event which was a useful opportunity to have a discussion with local young people about their priorities.  Perhaps unsurprisingly student fees were high on the agenda.  We also discussed lack of support for young people with mental health issues.  I know this is a real problem and I will certainly be taking their concerns on board.”
