Death at Dawn

Alan Campbell MP tonight went along to the Memorial Hall in Wallsend to see a local play Death at Dawn.

Written by local playwright Peter Mortimer, and commissioned by Tynemouth World War One Commemoration Project, the play is a fictional account of the real-life case of local lad William Hunter executed for desertion in 1916.

Alan Campbell MP said “I really enjoyed the play, not least because of the local links.  The play is a fitting part of the WW1 commemoration events and I would like to congratulate all those involved.”
