Local MP Alan Campbell today welcomed an announcement from the DWP detailing the steps being taken to reach the governments long term goals of 80% employment and world class skills.  Ready to Work: Full employment in our generation was published last week as a response to the DWP’s consultation which followed the publication of In Work, Better Off in July details the steps that are being taken to reform the welfare system, ensuring that workless people have access to efficient, modern personalised support. 

Alan Campbell said ‘These goals are at the heart of our commitment to build an inclusive, cohesive and prosperous society, and to eradicate child poverty.  Full employment will help us to combat poverty, and a skilled workforce will enable Britain to seize the opportunities that a global economy represents’
