Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell attended the official opening of the new Fabriam Centre based at the Atmel factory in his constituency. The Fabriam Centre is a joint venture between Atmel and the North of England Microelectronics Institute. The centre offers world class facilities for new and expanding technology companies and includes a conference and learning hub. The centre was officially opened by Lord Sainsbury, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Science and Innovation. The Fabriam Centre is funded by the European Union and with UK Government money, through One North East. Alan Campbell says’ “This is a world class facility which demonstrates that the North East is at the forefront of new technology and the new economy. I am delighted to have this facility in my constituency and hope that it helps local people to become the creators and inventors of the future.” |
