Tynemouth Labour Party has launched a constituency wide campaign to encourage local pensioners to take up the Pension Credit. The new tax credit started this week and is designed to benefit pensioners with a small second pension or savings income.
Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell joined Labour Party members as they delivered thousands of leaflets telling local people about the new Credit.
Alan Campbell MP said, “Labour promised to help pensioners with a second pension or savings income but who previously found themselves above the level for extra help. We are keeping that promise and over the next few months we will be encouraging pensioners across Tynemouth constituency to take up their new entitlement”
