Alan Campbell MP says Gordon Brown’s budget is good news for children in Tynemouth constituency.

Alan Campbell said Labour’s goal is to abolish child poverty and this budget is a further step in that direction.

Alan Campbell said

"Labour is committed to eradicating child poverty, providing support for families with children."

The new Child Trust Fund will give every new born child £250 rising to £500 for the poorest one third of families, ensuring every child has money in the bank to spend at age 18.

Paid from this month the Child Tax Credit gives extra money to help families with children and tackle child poverty, benefiting around 5.75 million families."
