Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell has officially opened the new Women’s Health Suite at North Tyneside General Hospital. Alan Campbell visited the new unit with Emmerdale actor John Middleton and met expectant mothers and new parents.

Alan Campbell said:

”The new Women’s Health Suite is further evidence of the big investment taking place in the NHS. Many local people will benefit from the new facilities at a crucially important time in their lives and for their family. This new unit is also good news for the people who work here. I heard nothing but praise from patients for the staff and it is important that staff have the best possible conditions to work in, enabling them to provide the best possible care. Not only is the NHS reforming the way it delivers its services but the much needed investment is being made and next months penny for the NHS on national insurance will help still further.”
