Annual Service marks St George’s Day

Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell has attended the Annual St George’s Day Service held at Christ Church organised by Tynemouth District Scout Council. The event attended by current and former Scouts is an important date in the Scouting Calendar. This year was also the centenary of the 1st Tynemouth Scouts.

Alan Campbell praised the work of the Scouts and particularly those who volunteer as leaders. Alan Campbell said, “For a century young people in our local community have benefited from the work of the Scouts. Hundreds of young people benefit from the hours put in each week by volunteer leaders and we should all be grateful to them for that.”
