MP under pressure?
Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell joined Elected Mayor John Harrison and Chief Executive of Northumbria Healthcare Trust, Jim Mackey, to have their blood pressure checked during Stroke Awareness Week. The event was held at the Tesco Store in North Shields where shoppers were invited to have their blood pressure checked. Monkseaton Rotary Club organised the event as part of their Stroke and Health Awareness Day.
Alan Campbell had his blood pressure checked and said afterwards, “I would advice people to have a regular check. Blood pressure can be an important cause of stroke and a simple regular check will identify the problem. I am grateful to Monkseaton Rotary Club and in particular to their Health Coordinator Barbara Connors-Fowler for not only highlighting this important issue but for continuing their excellent work in our local community.”
