Alan Campbell on BBC News 24

Voters going to the polls on May 1st should remember the progress being made in our local community as a result of the partnership between a Labour Council and a Labour government.

Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell told BBC News 24 ‘North Tyneside is the safest borough of its type in the country thanks to a partnership between the police and local authority.  Our local schools are amongst the best in the region thanks to the partnership between schools and the local authority.  And we are creating more jobs and seeing more businesses being set up than elsewhere in the region.’ 

Alan Campbell also said he understood residents concerns about the state of the economy but said the problems in the world economy now affecting the UK are not of the governments making or choosing.  But he added that after 10 years strong economic growth our government has the experience and leadership to see us through difficult times.
